I just hope that people allow this to happen, to be built without delay. I was also wondering what kind of strengths it would have, in Earthquake zones, high winds, storms etc. Still, if anyone is going to do it, it will be in Dubai, the most forward looking Arab nation. Investing their money in projects like this, and of course many others is nothing short of genius. Not relying on oil products for their future, I think, will allow them to continue generating wealth for their nation, for their people. Such a shame this can't be said for so many other nations around the world. I don't think it has anything to do with religion either. These people can see what has to be done, and they have the guts to do it, to take the risks. The only risks the west are willing to take nowadays are preceded by the words - "Whose oil are we gonna take today boys?" What a refreshing concept.
