Limitless doubles up at Cityscape Dubai

October 2, 2008 by UAERush · Leave a Comment

Limitless has more than doubled its global project portfolio in the last year, and will showcase 11 developments, worth nearly US$110 billion, at Cityscape Dubai 2008, compared to five at the 2007 event, the company announced today (Thursday).

The Limitless line up at this year’s show includes two newly-announced projects: Rasuna Epicentrum, the US$1.7 billion mixed-use development in Indonesia and World Island Resort, the US$350 million luxury hotel and villa complex in the UAE.

Nine others - spanning 20,000 hectares and providing homes for more than three million people - will also be on show, along with a host of interactive attractions that reflect the Limitless vision: to enhance and enrich people’s lives by delivering distinctive, sustainable developments.

Saeed Ahmed Saeed, Chief Executive Officer of Limitless, said:

“2008 has been a landmark year for Limitless. In the last 12 months, we have entered four new markets, announced six new developments and broken ground on three. We now have 11 international offices and at Cityscape we will demonstrate how we are changing people’s lives - globally - with a growing portfolio of tailor made, creative projects, all designed on a human scale, for a better way of life.”

Visitors to the Limitless stand (ZJ20) can get a taste of life in its master-planned developments - and help the environment - with a variety of interactive features. They can:

  • ride in an eight-seater ‘people mover’ designed to reduce car use and provide convenient, environmentally-friendly travel in Limitless’ large-scale developments. Passengers will take a global journey through Limitless projects, with the people mover’s onboard audio-visual display;
  • discover a diverse range of real-life experiences with five hi-tech three-dimensional “stereoscopic” pods that see the world through the eyes of a number of people who live and work in Limitless developments;
  • see how the Arabian Canal will transform Dubai, with its 75km water way and 14,000 hectare canalside city for 2.5 million people. An 84 square metre model of the project will use light, sound and vision to highlight the region’s biggest, most complex civil engineering undertaking, which will be home to new towns, topography, tourist attractions and transport systems;
  • explore the world of Limitless with a giant, 27 square metre digital interactive map showing the locations of the company’s projects, regions and offices; and
  • help Limitless to preserve the environment by taking away one of 5,000 electronic brochures, which have been uploaded onto recycled USB sticks, saving some 250 kilograms of paper.

The 11 Limitless projects on display at Cityscape Dubai are: Arabian Canal, Downtown Jebel Ali and World Island Resort (UAE); Rasuna Epicentrum (Indonesi); Sanaya Amman (Jordan); Al Wasl (Saudi Arabia); Khimki Region (Russia); Bidadi (India); Puteri Harbour and Malaysia International Halal Park (Malaysia) and Halong Star (Vietnam).

Limitless launches US$350 Million World Island Resort

September 22, 2008 by UAERush · Leave a Comment

Limitless is to create, own and operate a US$350 million, 10.5 hectare ultra luxury resort on a manmade island 14km from the Dubai coastline, the company announced today (Monday).

World Island Resort - on the north-east perimeter of The World development - is the tenth project for Limitless and the latest addition to its growing global portfolio, currently worth more than US$100 billion. It will be showcased at Cityscape Dubai next month.

World Island Resort will comprise 53 villas and water homes. Among them, 23 privately-owned villas, ranging from 650 to 820 square metres, offered for sale by invitation. Each will have a beachfront location or sea frontage with a private jetty, summerhouse and mooring facilities, and will come with its own spa treatment room, swimming pool, rooftop garden with outdoor kitchen, landscaped ground level garden overlooking the sea and internal elevator. The villas will be serviced by the hotel and can be leased back to the hotel when they are not being used by their owners.

The hotel - the first of several luxury hotels planned by Limitless - will focus on health, wellness, relaxation, world-class cuisine and the arts. It will feature a 2,000 square metre spa; an amenity building including specialty restaurants, art galleries, auction rooms, conference facilities and libraries; and luxurious accommodation in 30 villas or water homes. At its heart will be a calming lagoon with water features and a social clubhouse. There will also be a reception suite on the Dubai mainland: residents will reach the island by a private boat.

Like all Limitless developments, World Island Resort is designed on a human scale, and will be constructed in line with international sustainability and environmental standards.

Saeed Ahmed Saeed, CEO of Limitless, said: “In delivering World Island Resort we will draw on our expertise in waterfront development and the creation of distinctive projects that enhance and enrich people’s lives.

“World Island Resort will set a new global benchmark in the design and operation of luxury resorts. It is the flagship for Limitless’ waterfront hospitality developments and the launch pad for a range of high-end hotels we are planning in other waterfront and city locations.”

Construction will begin towards the end of 2008, with completion in around two years.

World Island Resort can be seen at the Limitless stand (ZJ20) at Cityscape Dubai 2008. Limitless will also display nine other projects: Arabian Canal and Downtown Jebel Ali (UAE); Sanaya Amman (Jordan); Al Wasl (Saudi Arabia); Khimki Region (Russia); Bidadi (India); Puteri Harbour and Malaysia International Halal Park (Malaysia) and Halong Star (Vietnam).
